Former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar has announced that he will be resigning from the party and his MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) post.
He stated that he will be submitting his resignation to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Vishweshwara Hegde Kageri, tomorrow.
Shettar expressed his disappointment with the party for not granting him a ticket in the upcoming elections. He held a closed-door meeting with BJP leaders Dharmendra Pradhan, Pralhad Joshi, and Chief Minister Bommai before making the decision.
Shettar mentioned that he will decide on his future course of action after submitting his resignation. He also noted that none of the BJP leaders provided him with a satisfactory answer as to why he was denied a ticket.
