Belagavi: Five members of the same family allegedly committed suicide in Boragall village, in Belagavi district, on Friday night, but the incident came to light on Saturday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Gopal Hadimani (46), Soumya Hadimani (19), Shweta Hadimani (16), Sakshi Hadimani (11) and Srujana (8).
The police said that Gopal Hadimani’s wife Jaya died three months ago due to black-fungus related complications and it is said that the family was disturbed after the death of Jaya.
The police said it looked like the deceased had consumed the poison on Friday night, but the incident came to light on Saturday.
The police said since the investigation is going on, they can’t reveal more information in this regard. When the police entered the house, they found the dead bodies lying on the bed. Sankeshwar police reached the spot and an investigation is going on.
