Hubballi: A-40-year old allegedly died due to the black fungus infection in Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences here on Saturday.
Dr Ravindra Gadag, Head of the ENT department said that the deceased is a resident of Hubballi, he was a Covid patient and later infected with black fungus. Whether the patient died due to black fungus infection is not yet confirmed as the patient had multi-organ failure also, said the doctor.
There are 82 patients infected with black fungus availing treatment at KIMS of which many were from other districts, said the sources.
