Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman to present Union Budget today

New Delhi, 01 February (HS): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the General (Union) Budget for 2023-24 in the Lok Sabha today (Wednesday). This budget will be the last full budget of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government before the general elections next year. This year’s budget assumes significance as the next Lok Sabha elections are to be held in the country in April-May 2024. The Finance Minister will give her address in Parliament at 11 am. The eyes of the whole world are on this budget.

ECONOMIC SURVEY

The Economic Survey 2022-23, presented in Parliament on Tuesday, is a clear indication that the Modi government is working on major measures of economic reforms. In these reforms, there can be a special emphasis on getting the industry free from license and inspector raj. It may also include some very important steps regarding administrative reforms. These measures will prove to be helpful in taking India out of the category of developing countries and placing them in the category of developed countries.
