Excess rainfall has been recorded in nine districts of North Interior Karnataka.

Hubballi: In the last 17 days, nine districts of North Interior Karnataka (NIK) have received excess rainfall, three districts have received normal rainfall and only Yadgiri district has received below normal rain, said a bulletin released by the Department of Agricultural Meteorology.

In the bulletin, Dr. R. H. Patil, head of the Department of Agricultural Meteorology at UAS, stated that the Bidar district received 159 mm of actual rainfall as opposed to the normal 69 mm during this period. Yadgiri district received 52 mm of rainfall against the normal of 58 mm that is a deficit of 11 percent.

Dharwad district in the last 17 days has received 157 mm of actual rainfall against the normal of 74 mm, said Dr Patil.
