Ex cop Annamalai got a new role in TN

The BJP named ex-cop K Annamalai as its Tamil Nadu state president on Thursday, succeeding L Murugan. During his time as an IPS officer, Annamalai developed a reputation as a harsh cop in the state of Karnataka.

On Wednesday, L Murugan was sworn in as a union minister, and the party’s policy of “one rank, one post” prompted the party to look for a new name.

Annamalai, quit IPS last year to join BJP and he had launched a foundation to help students after quitting his post.
