Chitradurga: An elderly couple was found murdered in Hosadurga town, in Chitradurga district, on Thursday night.
The deceased have been identified as Prabhakar Shetty, 75, and Vijayalaxmi, 68, both residents of Hosadurga. Sources said that Shetty used to run an edible oil business in the town. When the neighbours noticed no activity in the couple’s house, they went to investigate and discovered the couple lying in a pool of blood with their throats slit. The police said that they had yet to determine the motive of the murder and gather information about valuables missing from the house.
The police suspect the accused knew the couple was alone at the home. Hosadurga police have registered a case, and an investigation is going on.
