The BJP-led Mahayuti alliance has taken a significant early lead in the Maharashtra Assembly elections, ahead on 163 constituencies, according to initial trends on Saturday, as per sources from the State Election Commission. Meanwhile, the Congress-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) is leading on 49 seats.

Additionally, independent candidates and smaller parties are ahead in 18 constituencies, officials reported.

Despite a lackluster performance in the last Lok Sabha elections, these early results suggest a strong showing for the Mahayuti in the state assembly polls.
