Hubballi-Dharwad (West) MLA Arvind Bellad reacted to the allegation by the Congress that he sent a team of youths to Nava Anand Nagar to collect the vital information of voters. Bellad said that he does not know who those youths are.
Speaking to www.hubliexpress.com Bellad said that there is no truth in the allegation. He said it is true that they are sending teams to “enroll new voters” and enrol the transferred voters. “It is also true that we are getting primary information from the residents so that we can deliver the government’s programme and make them avail themselves of the benefits of the new projects launched by the union and state governments. “We are sending teams for this purpose only, but I don’t know who those youths were found roaming in that area on Thursday,” clarified Bellad.
The Congress leaders alleged that the MLA sending teams on a regular basis in the Assembly constituency to gather important information from the voters, including their EPIC details, their name and serial number on the voters’ list, booth numbers, the polling station area, and other details so that they could get an advantage in the upcoming Assembly election.
