Bengaluru: DK Shivakumar, the President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) and a prominent contender for the position of Karnataka Chief Minister, has decided to cancel his planned visit to Delhi.
The Congress party’s high command had invited both Shivakumar and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to Delhi, as both leaders are actively vying for the CM post.
During the CLP (Congress Legislative Party) meeting on Sunday, a resolution was passed, leaving the decision of selecting the CM candidate in the hands of the party high command.
In light of this resolution, the party leadership called upon the leaders to hold discussions in Delhi. While Siddaramaiah has already arrived in Delhi, DK Shivakumar has canceled his trip due to health concerns. He was scheduled to depart for Delhi this evening.
Party sources indicate that the high command is likely to announce the CLP leader by tonight.
