[sg_popup id=”7216″ event=”inherit”][/sg_popup]Dharwad: The Dharwad Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (DIMHANS), the region’s lone premier institute for mental health patients, has relaunched its newsletter under a new name and in Avtar.
According to sources, the DIMHANS used to publish the newsletter ‘DIMHANS Chetana’ in 2017, however, the publication was later halted owing to technical issues.
Dr Mahesh Desai decided to restart it after assuming charge. The newsletter’s new name is “DIMHANS Suddipatra,” and it will be distributed mostly in digital form. A limited number of physical copies will be provided for patients and their companions visiting DIMHANS.
According to the sources, the rationale for moving digital was to provide news, events, and information about the institute in an ecologically friendly manner.
Dr Mahesh Desai, the Director of DIMHANS, released the DIMHANS newsletter. DIMHANS recently made the decision to formally record all of its events and community initiatives. It also includes articles, poetry, and artwork by DIMHANS employees, teachers, and students.
Administrative employees, as well as teachers and students from various disciplines, attended the event. Dr Sahithya BR, Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology; Dr Ananthramu BG, Assistant Professor of Psychiatric Social Work; and newsletter advisor, Dr Raghavendra Nayak, Associate Professor of Psychiatry, were also present. CAO Dr Shanmukha D, Mallikarjun Dharani, Vijayalaxmi Toragalmath, and Veena Patil, Office Superintendent, were also present.
Dr Shanteri Pai’s mandala, signifying greater mental health, graces the cover of the latest issue of the newsletter. The newsletter also includes articles by MPhil Clinical Psychology trainee Vaishnavi Kulkarni and Shridevi Birader from the Department of Psychiatric Social Work.
