Dharwad: Thieves chop and steal a sandalwood tree grown on the KCD campus

A 15-year-old sandalwood tree grown on the Karnatak College Campus in Dharwad was chopped and stolen away by thieves in the wee hours of Saturday, according to Range Forest Officer R S Uppar.

The incident was brought to the official’s attention by a security staff member of the college who was on night duty. The officials said that the miscreants threatened him. The security guard said that they were a team of around eight men and threatened him, showing a sword, to not shout and inform anyone. RFO RS Uppar stated that they would file a complaint and he expressed confidence that they would send the miscreants behind bars at the earliest.
