Hubballi: A 40-year-old businessman from Ashraya Colony, Sattur, Dharwad, lost his hard-earned money to cyber tricksters recently. The man runs a cloth store in Hubballi. While he was in the shop, for the expansion of his business, he was searching for online loan options on the internet and came across a company called “Salarygo Innovations (opc) Private Limited” while searching.
The businessman uploaded all the details, like his name, mobile number, PAN card, and Aadhaar card details, and submitted it. Based on the information he provided, an unknown person connected with him via WhatsApp and claimed that for him a loan of Rs 5 lakh was approved in the “Pradhan Mantri Aadhaar Yojana.” The cheater informed him that for transferring money to his account he need to pay the processing fee, file charges, loan agreement fee, insurance, GST and other charges.
The man agreed to pay all the fees, and he transferred Rs 1.06 lakh to Trickster’s account. When he did not receive money, he approached cyber crime police and registered a case in this regard.
