Hubballi: According to a circular released by the state government on Friday, the state government has set a target of conducting 5,000 Covid-19 tests per day in the Dharwad district.
In response to the approaching threat of the Omicron variant of Coronavirus, the state government has declared that it will henceforth conduct 1,00,000 Covid-19 tests daily, bolstering the state’s testing and tracking infrastructure.
In this regard, the government has assigned a target to each district. The Dharwad district must undertake 1,500 Rapid Antigen Tests and 3,500 RT-PCR tests out of the total.
The government has specified in the circular that random tests on students, teachers, and officials at colleges and high schools shall be done every 15 days. This apart random tests would be conducted on staffs working in theaters, multiplexes, pubs, hotels, restaurants, supervisors, and assistants working in Anganwadis.
