Hubballi: The primary schools and class 8 in Hubballi Rural and City Taluk, Dharwad City and Rural Taluk, which were closed following a surge in COVID positivity rate on January 13, will reopen from Monday (January 24).
The offline classes will resume from Monday, said DC in an order.
In the order, he stated that schools that had been closed due to the detection of COVID cases would reopen in 3, 5, or 7 days, depending on the detection of COVID case numbers.
He said schools will be considered as a unit, and the respective Tahsildar, Taluka Health Officer, and Block Education Officer will collectively decide on announcing a holiday for the school where COVID cases were reported. He said if fewer (3 to 5) positive cases were found, the school would remain closed for three days, if more than 6 and less than 20 cases were detected the school will remain close for five days. if 20 or more cases were detected, the particular school would remain closed for seven days, and the school would reopen automatically after the said period of closure, he said.
The DC has the power to announce holidays or the opening of medical, engineering, and PU colleges on the suggestion of the DHO and the concerned principal of the college.
