Hubballi: South-West Monsoon is likely to get active on June 26 and till then, cloudy weather with intermittent drizzling will continue in Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, and Belagavi districts, said Dr RH Patil, head of the Agromet department and principal nodal officer of GKMS unit UAS.
Speaking to Hubli Express, Dr Patil said that the monsoon is likely to get active on or after June 26. He said the delay was caused by cyclone Asani, which caused a heavy downpour just before the beginning of June. The next update on the weather will be updated as soon as any changes happen in the environment, he said.
He said the intensity of rain would continue in the western coastal region, but its intensity would be less in Malnad and the Western Ghats for the next three days, he said.
Dr Patil also informed farmers that July 15 is the last date for availing crop insurance.
