Hubballi: Devotees of Lord Shiva stood in a serpentine queue outside Shiva temples on the occasion of Mahashivaratri in Hubballi Dharwad, reciting mantras and bhajans. Many temples were packed with people. Special Poojas and Abhishekhs began shortly after midnight at various temples. Devotees offered special prayers to the Lord, as well as Jalabhishekh.
The Siddharoodha Swamy Math saw a large influx of devotees, with thousands gathering to offer prayers as the clock struck 12 a.m. The annual fair of Sri Siddharoodha Swamiji will be conducted tomorrow, and devotees from other states and nearby districts have come to seek the blessings of Sri Siddharoodha Swamiji and Gurunathroodha Swamiji.

Devotees offered Lord Manjunatha special prayers. People fast on this day and stay awake until the morning as part of Maha Jagarane.
