The initial explosion triggered a fire that rapidly consumed two storage tanks and a nearby residence. This dire situation prompted evacuations spanning a radius of 300 meters and caused significant disruptions to road traffic. The agency responsible for emergency situations (IGSU) reported the engagement of 25 fire engines in combatting the inferno. Regrettably, the severity of the incident led to four individuals being intubated due to severe burns, as stated by the health ministry.
Adding to the tragedy, a subsequent explosion rocked the LPG station on Saturday evening, resulting in injuries to 26 dedicated firefighters. Deputy Interior Minister Raed Arafat, who oversees the emergency response unit, conveyed this unfortunate development to the press.
