Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar continues to be embroiled in the ongoing disproportionate assets case as he faced a grueling three-hour interrogation by Lokayukta officials today.

The questioning, originally scheduled for yesterday, was postponed at Shivakumar’s request due to his commitment to offer bagina at the Alamatti reservoir.

Following the intense session, Shivakumar spoke candidly to the press, drawing a controversial comparison between investigative bodies. “The CBI is better than the Lokayukta,” he stated, alleging that “Lokayukta officials ask hundreds of questions and torture us.” This statement is likely to raise eyebrows in political and legal circles.

The Deputy CM also revealed that the Lokayukta has requested additional documents, though he refrained from disclosing specifics to the media. “I can’t disclose what documents these are in front of the media,” he said, maintaining a level of confidentiality around the ongoing investigation.

In a surprising twist, Shivakumar claimed that despite the case being transferred to the Lokayukta, the CBI is continuing its separate investigation. He expressed concern over what he describes as constant harassment of his family members and friends by CBI officials.
