On Saturday morning, the overall air quality in Delhi was in the “severe” category, according to the System of Air Quality Weather Forecasting Research, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 499 at 7:35 a.m.
As the national capital’s air quality worsens, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said on Saturday that schools in the city will be shuttered from Monday, with only online sessions permitted.
The CM also said that all government departments will be able to work from home, and construction activities will be prohibited in the capital.
