Hubballi: A tragic accident occurred on Friday evening near Dharwad cross on the Hubballi-Kalaghatagi Road, resulting in the death of two individuals and leaving three others injured. The collision took place when a car collided head-on with a pickup truck.
The victims who lost their lives in the accident have been identified as Francis Gonsalves, a retired bank employee, 73, and Elium Gonsalves, 36, both residents of Bengaluru originally from Hubballi. The car’s occupants, Ellin, Jordan, and Jesham, sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment, according to Inspector Mahantesh Koujalagi.
The Maruti-800 car was en route from Hubballi to Kumta, while the Tata Yodha pickup truck was heading towards Hubballi at the time of the collision. The driver of the truck has been apprehended by the police, and a case has been registered in connection with the incident.
