Hubballi: DCC President Altaf Hallur, has claimed that the former MLC Mohan Limbikai was included in the party without consulting the District Committee.
Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, he said, the party did not hold any talks or seek the committee’s consultation before accepting Limbikai into its fold, and he also clarified that Limbikai joined the party without any conditions.
However, local party workers and voters were demanding a better candidate to be fielded in the upcoming assembly election in the Hubballi-Dharwad (West) constituency against BJP MLA Arvind Bellad, and if the party leaders ask me, I will suggest the party give the ticket to native Congressman. Hallur’s comments suggest that there is significant opposition within the party to Limbikai’s inclusion and candidacy.
