Dharwad: On Friday, Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil paid a visit to Dr. Mallikarjun Mansur’s ancestral home in Mansur village.
Patil visited Mansur’s house after locals requested him to do so after visiting a polling station during the MLC election set up at Mansur Gram Panchayat.
Responding to the public’s request, the DC stated that a decision on extending monetary assistance for the development of the house would be made following a discussion of the matter at the Dr. Mallikarjun Mansur National Memorial Trust meeting. Patil said, if the inmates of the house handed over the property to the trust, it would be developed into a memorial.
He stated that a member of Mansur’s family and a village resident would be appointed as members of the trust, but that the names would be recommended by the Gram Panchayat after discussion at the GP meeting.
