Davangere: Wild Animals Found in a Politician’s Farmhouse

Davanagere:  The CCB and Forest Department staff have rescued a number of wild animals that were caged and kept as pets in a farmhouse located behind Kalleshwar Mill in Davanagere that was allegedly belonging to Congress leader of the city on Thursday, said sources.

The sources said that seven spotted deer, seven wild boars, three mongooses, two jackals, and 10 blackbucks were found during the raid and were rescued.

On December 18, in Bengaluru’s Hebbal, CCB police nabbed a person called Senthil, who was found red-handed while he was trying to sell the skin and horns of deer. During an inquiry, it was found that Senthil had brought those from Davangere, and based on that information, they conducted the raid, said sources.
