India has won 61 medals in Commonwealth Games held at Birmingham, including 22 gold, 16 silver, and 23 bronze. The country ranked fourth in the medal standings.
Nearly 200 Indian athletes competed for medals across 16 different sports at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. On the last day, the Indian contingent won four gold, one silver, and one bronze.
India’s performance has won millions of hearts. Star cricketer Virat Kohli took to micro-blogging site Koo to congratulate players who took part in the games and made the country proud.
He wrote, “You have brought great laurels for our country. Congratulations to all our winners and the participants of CWG 2022. We are so proud of you. Jai Hind.”
BJP MP, former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad congratulated the team India and wrote on Koo, he said ” The New India Creates History In Commonwealth Games 2022:”
