Bengaluru: With Karnataka recording 35 active Covid-19 cases so far this year—32 of which are from Bengaluru—the state government has issued a fresh advisory, urging the public to strictly follow Covid-appropriate behaviour. While health officials have assured that the situation remains under control, the gradual uptick in cases over the past three weeks has prompted precautionary measures.
In the advisory released on Friday, authorities highlighted the need for increased vigilance, especially among high-risk groups. Pregnant women, children, senior citizens, and individuals with existing health conditions or weakened immunity have been particularly advised to wear masks in crowded places.
The public is also encouraged to maintain good hygiene practices, such as frequent hand washing and the use of hand sanitizers, to minimize the risk of transmission.
Additionally, those experiencing symptoms linked to Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) are advised to get tested for Covid-19 without delay. Early diagnosis, officials stressed, is key to effective treatment and containing the spread of the virus.
