Hubballi: Police Commissioner Labhu Ram has said that they will be installing 100 new CCTV cameras in the twin cities limits.
The top cop said that these new cameras will be installed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.25 crore. The Hubballi-Dharwad Bus Rapid Transit System (HDBRTS) Company will make a Rs 25 lakh contribution. And the department would spend the remaining Rs 1 crore, he said.
Ram said that with the installation of these cameras, the CCTV network system would be strengthened. The new CCTVs would be connected to the new Traffic Management Center (TMC) in the Commissioner’s office. He said these cameras would be installed soon.
However, Ram did not elaborate on the locations where the cameras would be installed or the types of cameras they were planning to install. He said the cameras installed by the police department are working fine, including those installed on watch towers.
