Cops should book case against non-students for creating disturbance: Union Min Joshi

Hubballi: Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mines and Coal Pralhad Joshi has asked the police to take strict action against those who try to create disturbances in front of or inside the premises of schools and colleges, except students.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Joshi claimed that some forces were purposefully stirring controversy over the hijab. The state government should ensure that everyone abides with the High Court’s interim order. “If they are not obeying it now, will they do so if the court rules against wearing the hijab?” he wondered.

In response to a question about the dharna staged by Congress members, the minister stated that since they are left with no other option than to stage dharnas, they should continue. He went on to say that instead of making constructive ideas, pointing out the government’s flaws, and offering solutions, they are staging a dharna on a non-issue.
