Dharwad: Sridhar Satare, the police inspector of Dharwad Rural police station, has been suspended from the service. In an order, DG and IGP Praveen Sood said that the inspector has been suspended pending an inquiry for dereliction of duty.
In the suspension order, the DG and IGP said that the inspector in a case registered this year at the Dharwad Rural police station acted in a negligent manner and filed an FIR against accused number 5, despite the fact that the complainant did not mention the name of the said accused in that complaint.
Hence, the inspector did not perform his duty in a proper manner in this case, and he was suspended from the service with immediate effect pending inquiry, said the DG and IGP. Satare was waiting to take charge of the intelligence wing and has been suspended, the order said.
A case was filed against the Chairman of the Legislative Council, Basavaraj Horatti, and four others at the Dharwad Rural police station. The complaint said that Horatti misused his powers and forcibly took over the management of Sarvodaya Shikshana Trust. At the behest of Horatti, Mohan Gudasalmani , president of Valmiki Samaj Sangha, alleged that miscreants assaulted him. Sarvodaya Shikshana Samsthe’s legal battle is going on, and Horatti is facing charges of misusing this trust.
