The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has unveiled its initial list of candidates for 124 assembly seats, with most of the current Congress MLAs being granted tickets. Among the notable names, Siddaramaiah will be vying for the Varuna seat, DK Shivakumar will contest from Kanakapura, and Laxmi Hebbalkar has been fielded from Belagavi rural constituency.
For the Dharwad district, the Congress has designated Prasad Abbayya, the incumbent MLA, as its candidate for the Hubballi-Dharwad (East) seat in the upcoming election. The party has not announced ticket for Badami and Kolar, it is said that Siddaramaiah may contest from one these seats if the situation demands.
