Hyderabad: During an election rally in Tukkuguda near Hyderabad, former Congress chief Sonia Gandhi announced a series of guarantees for the poll-bound state of Telangana.
Expressing her aspiration to see a Congress government in Telangana that caters to all sections of society, Gandhi declared, “We are announcing six guarantees, and we are committed to fulfilling each one of them.”
Addressing the gathering on Sunday, Gandhi emphasized her deep connection to the birth of the state of Telangana. As part of these guarantees, she unveiled plans for financial assistance of ₹2,500 per month for women through the Mahalakshmi scheme, subsidized gas cylinders priced at ₹500, and free travel for women on TSRC buses throughout the state.
AICC prez Mallikarjun Kharge urged party leaders to put aside personal differences and confront their adversaries wholeheartedly in the upcoming state and Lok Sabha elections. During the extended CWC meeting, Kharge outlined the party’s objective of defeating the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and diligently working toward establishing an alternative government in the country.
