Congress leaders purchase Khadi flags worth Rs 8.11 lakh from KKGSS

Hubballi: Congress leaders have purchased Khadi-made national flags of various sizes from Karnataka Khadi Gramodyoga Samyukta Sangha (KKGSS) Bengeri, worth Rs 8,11,500. KPCC president DK Shivakumar purchased flags worth Rs. 7,11,500 lakh.

Rajat Ullagaddimath, who is spearheading a campaign to save Khadi-made national flags, said that Jamkhandi MLA Siddu Nyamagouda purchased flags worth Rs 75,000 and he himself purchased flags worth Rs 25,000 from the unit, he said.

Today, a delegation of city Congress leaders visited the flag making unit in Bengeri, and a few of them purchased flags symbolically. Rajat said more Congress leaders would buy flags from this unit as the party has launched a Freedom Walk programme in all the Assembly constituencies and the MLAs of various constituencies are expected to buy flags from KKGSS, he said.
