Bengaluru: DK Shivakumar, the President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, celebrated his 62nd birthday at a private hotel in the early hours of Monday, attended by prominent party leaders like former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Congress party in-charge for Karnataka, Randeep Singh Surjewala.
Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar are expected to fly to Delhi today. The Congress party is expected to emphasize power-sharing, as they prepare for next year’s Parliament elections. A meeting between the two leaders and AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge is also anticipated. With the Congress party securing 135 seats, both Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar are competing for the Chief Minister position in Karnataka.
