Hubballi: Congress leader Anilkumar Patil suffered a heart attack on Tuesday afternoon and was quickly admitted to KIMS Hospital where he underwent primary angioplasty.
Sources said that Patil suffered an inferior myocardial infarction, and he is now in stable condition. Patil arrived at the hospital after experiencing a chest burn on Tuesday afternoon and an abnormal ECG result prompted doctors to conduct an angioplasty and remove blockages in the right artery. He will remain in the hospital for the next 24 hours, according to medical advice.
Patil had been actively involved in campaigning for Congress candidate Jagadish Shettar in Hubballi Central. Following the news of his heart attack, several senior Congress leaders visited him at the hospital.
