Dharwad: PH Neeralkeri, a prominent lawyer and Congress leader has announced his decision to quit the party after being denied a ticket to contest the upcoming elections from Hubballi-Dharwad (West) constituency. Neeralkeri expressed his disappointment with the party’s decision and stated his desire to continue his legal practice at the high court.
He said he has not yet submitted the resignation, but said soon, he would be submitting it.
In a press release, Neeralkeri said that despite his unwavering dedication and preparation to contest the election, the party did not recognize his efforts and denied him a ticket. He also raised concerns about the possibility of ticket sales within the Congress party.
Neeralkeri highlighted his successful campaign against MLA Arvind Bellad, which exposed his failures and inactivity to the public. Additionally, he claimed to have successfully exposed an EPIC card scandal, which resulted in the election commission taking stringent measures. Despite his contributions to the party, Neeralkeri expressed disappointment at not being given the opportunity to contest the election.
He said he would submit his resignation from the primary membership of the Congress party, citing his disappointment with the party’s decision. The party has fielded former HDMC member, Deepak Chinchore as the candidate from Hubballi-Dharwad (West) constituency.
