Hubballi, May 11: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has stated that the campaign by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been a plus point for the BJP and that they will achieve an absolute majority. He expressed his gratitude to the people of Shiggaon and said that despite facing many conspiracies and negative campaigning; he was confident of winning from Shiggaon by a large margin.
When asked about the 2018 Assembly polls, where surveys had given over 107 seats to the Congress Party but the results were reversed, Bommai stated that he still had confidence in Modi’s campaign and believed that youths and women had voted for the BJP. The party is confident of achieving an absolute majority.
However, Bommai declined to answer a question about a possible hung assembly and clarified that he had never said the BJP would win 150 seats but that they would achieve an absolute majority, and he stood by that statement.
