Bengaluru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has made a unique and novel decision by stating that he will no longer accept flowers and shawls as tokens of respect from the public. Instead, he encourages individuals to express their love and admiration by presenting him with books.
Taking to Twitter to announce his unconventional choice, he wrote, “I have decided to decline the customary offerings of flowers and shawls, which are often given as a mark of respect. This holds true for both personal and public events. If people wish to express their affection and esteem towards me, I kindly request them to do so by gifting books. May your love and affection continue to shower upon me.”
CM Siddaramaiah’s decision to exclusively accept books as gifts is a departure from traditional practices, reflecting his passion for knowledge and literature.
