The Executive Officer of the Yadadri Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple received a cheque for Rs 52,48,097 from Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) on Friday as part of his donation to purchase one kilogramme and 16 tolas of gold for the vimana gopura of the temple, which will be gold-plated.
The Chief Minister visited the temple at midday and took part in a special pooja ceremony while being accompanied by his wife Shoba and grandson Himanshu. The CM had announced the decision earlier and on Friday he handed over the cheque to temple Executive Officer.
He then conducted a review meeting with representatives from the Sri Lakshminarsimha Swamy temple and the Yadadri Temple Development Authority (YTDA). He asked officials about the Temple Town’s ongoing projects and gave them orders to move more quickly. He also asked the administrators about the amenities being built at Yadadri for the worshippers. After finishing his four-hour visit to Yadadri, he departed for Hyderabad by road.
