CM in Hubballi, says minority voters not deleted from voter’s list

CM Bommai

Hubballi: Following allegations that minority voters are being deleted by the unauthorized surveys across the state and a similar kind of incident happened in Hubballi on Thursday, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai termed it as a false report.

Speaking to reporters here on Friday, the CM said the report is false that minority voters are deleted from the voter’s list after the unauthorised surveys across the State.

He said the Election Commission was seized of the matter and the revision of the voter’s list is being done under their supervision. Both the Election Commission of India and the State Election Commission have already taken proper care in this work. Any such complaints would be probed through officials. But, the inclusion of unauthorized voters into the voter’s list is going on. There are a number of voters having double the election voter’s identification card of two separate addresses and even those names must be removed by the Election Commission. At any cost the genuine voters must have the voting rights and that must be ensured by the Election Commission.

Probe ordered into the assault on Kannadiga

On the assault on a Kannadiga for holding the Kannada flag in Belagavi, Bommai said instructions have been given to the police commissioner of Belagavi city to take necessary action and to probe the incident. Action will be initiated after the probe report. The police have claimed that there was no assault but action will be taken once the truth comes out.
