Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will hold a crucial meeting with a few of his cabinet colleagues and Covid-19 Technical Advisory Committee members regarding extending Covid-19 curbs in the state tomorrow afternoon.
The CM will be in Tumakuru around 9 am. He will be taking part in a programme of Siddhaganga Mutt. At around 1 pm, the meeting will begin.
Speaking to the media, Revenue Minister R Ashoka said that tomorrow’s meeting is very important and an important decision will be made during the meeting. He said he had also expressed an opinion on relaxing curbs in the districts where COVID cases are low.
The state government is likely to withdraw the weekend curfew and revise the timings of the night curfew in this meeting. The BJP leaders are opposing these curbs and demanding relaxation.
Meanwhile, state BJP chief Nalin Kumar Kateel said that the government is committed to protecting lives. The restrictions were imposed in the state as per the direction of experts and WHO guidelines. “Those who have expressed dissatisfaction with the curbs were expressing their personal opinion. CM will take an appropriate decision, “he said.
