Bengaluru: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced setting up an AIIMS-like institute in Raichur. The people of Raichur have been demanding the AIIMS Institute be built in their district, and they have been protesting, demanding the premier institute.
Not only Raichur but also the people of Belagavi, Bagalkot, Vijayapura, and Dharwad are demanding the union government establish the health care institute in their districts. Recently, BJP legislators raised their voices in the Assembly session and demanded that the state send a proposal recommending the name of Raichur district to establish AIIMS in Raichur only.
Will the people of Raichur accept the announcement of an “AIIMS-like” institute? Or they demand AIIMS, how the people of Raichur react only time will tell.
