Hubballi: Mayor Iresh Anchatgeri has said that preparations to honour President of India Draupadi Murmu on behalf of all citizens of Hubballi-Dharwad on September 26 are progressing at a good pace. He said around 5,000 people would witness the rare event on that day, and invitations would be sent to the invitees at the earliest.

He said a German-technology water-proofing tent would be erected on Karnataka Gymkhana Associations Ground and 5,000 chairs would be arranged for seating. Clearance from all the concerned authorities to conduct the event at this location has been obtained; security agencies have scrutinised the venue.
