The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai, has accused the President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), D K Shivakumar, of trying to lure BJP MLAs with offers of tickets in constituencies where Congress has not yet announced candidates for the upcoming assembly polls in May.
Bommai claimed that Shivakumar has been making phone calls to BJP MLAs in these constituencies in an attempt to convince them to switch sides.
He further added that the BJP’s first list of candidates is expected to be announced in the first week of April. The Congress has already announced its first list of 124 candidates but is yet to announce candidates for 100 seats.
He said that the Congress leaders are frustrated and they lack proper candidates and that is why he is making calls to BJP men.
