Hubballi: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will inaugurate South India’s first FMCG cluster park in Hubballi tomorrow (October 28).

The FMCG cluster which is coming up at Mummigatti has been announced by the Chief Minister, keeping in mind the fundamentals of “Atmanirbhar Bharat”. The FMCG cluster targets creating 5 lakh job opportunities with 35 % economic growth in the region by 2030.
MLA Arvind Bellad said that the cluster evolves on the concept of shared facilities and knowledge, aiming to generate economies of scale by minimising fixed overhead costs. The cluster development will be proposed in three phases, with each phase comprising an investment of Rs 2,500 crore. The overall development envisages generating 1.5 lakh direct and 3.5 lakh indirect jobs over the next seven years, enabling economic transactions of Rs 12,000–15,000 crore per annum through the cluster per annum—one-third of the gross domestic product of Dharwad as on date, he informed.
Basavaraj Bommai will sign the MoU with around 10-15 companies on October 28 in Hubballi. These companies will start their production in the next 18-24 months, said Bellad.
Bellad said that the chief minister had given him the responsibility to follow the project, and he ensured that the project takes off smoothly. He said he ensured he coordinated well with the companies and government and ensured that the project was becoming a reality.
