Chetan Hirekerur, who won the HDMC election as an independent candidate, has joined the Congress party in the presence of KPCC President DK Shivakumar.
Congress candidate Prakash Kyarkatti, who lost to him, is planning to join the BJP. Laxman Gandgalekar, a former BJP corporator, is considering joining the Congress after his wife was denied a BJP ticket to contest in the HDMC election. In the election, Laxman’s wife was defeated by a BJP candidate.
