Hubballi: Central Railways Hospital, Hubballi of South Western Railway has received important recognition in the field of medicine in India. The hospital has been granted accreditation to conduct Post MBBS Diploma Courses by the National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences for a period of 5 years i.e., from January-2022 to December-2026, in the fields of Family Medicine, D.Fam. (Med) (NBEMS) -02 Seats., Obstetrics and Gynecology, DGO (NBEMS) – 02 Seats and Pediatrics – DCH (NBEMS) – 02 Seats.

Dr. Vilas Gunda, Principal Chief Medical Director, South Western Railway said that this accreditation is largely going to help the public as it will facilitate more specialists in the Healthcare Service in the days to come. As 50% of the seats are reserved for Medical Officers of Indian Railway Health Services, this will also increase the number of specialists in Railway Health Services thereby benefiting Railway Beneficiaries at large, Mr. Gunda opined.

This has been possible due to the dedicated efforts of the medical team led by Principal Chief Medical Director  Dr. Vilas Gunda. General Manager  Sanjeev Kishore has congratulated the Medical Department of SWR and has appealed to PG Medical Aspirants to make use of the opportunity.
