Belagavi: The detailed project report (DPR) for Karnataka’s Kalasa-Banduri (Mahadayi) project has been approved, the chief minister Basavaraj Bommai stated Thursday in the Assembly.

“This is North Karnataka’s gift from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. And, this delightful news has arrived during the Belagavi legislative session,” Bommai stated in the Assembly. In North Karnataka, the Kalasa-Banduri project has been in the works for a long time.

“We first filed the DPR, then a pre-feasibility report. The Modi government approved our DPR following a number of questions and clarifications. Now, our dream will come true,” stated Bommai. The union government has stated that our DPR is acceptable from a hydrological and inter-state perspective, he added.

The “much-awaited” DPR for the Kalasa-Banduri project has been authorised by the Central Water Commission, according to Union Minister Prahlad Joshi, who represents Dharwad. He expressed gratitude to PM Modi, Amit Shah, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, and the Union Home and Jal Shakti Ministers.
