New Delhi, May 17 (HS): The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the houses of some close people of former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik on Wednesday. This raid has been done in connection with the alleged insurance scam in Jammu and Kashmir.
According to sources, along with the Delhi residence of Satya Pal Malik’s media advisor Sunak Bali, the CBI has raided a total of eight locations including Jammu-Kashmir and Rajasthan.
Responding to this, Malik said that it is unfortunate that his former colleague Bali is being harassed by the CBI. He further said that when he was the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Bali was working as his press advisor and secretary without taking an official salary. The CBI is deliberately troubling the people who have complained about this matter.
It is worth mentioning that Malik had alleged in an interview that when he was the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, he was offered Rs 300 crore bribe to pass files of Reliance General Insurance company and of an RSS leader.
To investigate these serious allegations of Malik, the CBI has registered a case and started an investigation. Malik was also questioned by the CBI in this regard on April 28.
