Eight individuals, including six children, were left stranded at a height of 900 feet mid-air in Pakistan‘s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province after a cable car wire broke.
The incident occurred in Allai tehsil in Allai District, during the schoolchildren’s commute around 8 am. The privately-operated cable car served as transportation in the absence of roads or bridges.
An army helicopter was dispatched for their rescue. Gulfaraz, a passenger, revealed the ordeal started with one wire breaking at 7 am, followed by another. Mansehra Deputy Inspector General of Police Tahir Ayub stated that the army copter was the only rescue option.
