By installing Ganesha at Idgah, the BJP is trying to score political goals

MLA Prasad Abbayya addressing press conference in Hubballi

Hubballi: The BJP is trying to score political goals by installing a Ganesha idol at Idgah grounds in Hubballi, alleged Congress leaders.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday evening, MLA Prasad Abbayya and Congress rural district president Anil Kumar Patil said that they had requested the BJP leaders such as Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and former CM Jagadish Shettar to maintain the status quo, but their requests were sidelined.

The BJP leaders said that they were just discussing this as some organisations were putting pressure on them. But later, they formed a house committee to discuss this, and the Congress party opposed it, later coming to know that the house committee has five members, three from BJP and two from Congress, and BJP has a majority in it. The Congress opposed the committee also, said the Congress leaders.

MLA Prasad Abbayya charged that the BJP leaders misused their powers in installing the idol. He said that why can’t they keep Ganesha on Nehru Grounds? Why are they hell-bent on installing the idol at a place where minorities offer prayer twice a year? What do they get by hurting them?
